Future competitiveness depends on startups, but complex rules and an increasing regulatory burden are hampering growth. Together with startup organizations from Poland and Cyprus, we urge the EU's upcoming Trio presidency, which starts on January 1, to prioritize innovation and entrepreneurship.
Europe's role as a global leader is at stake. Figures show that many European companies are looking to the US for better conditions, resulting in economic losses of USD 439 billion since 2018. The Trio Presidency has a unique opportunity to change course and ensure a startup-friendly Europe through concrete initiatives, including fewer regulations, easier access to capital and stronger global cooperation.
